Interesting or exciting events in the personal lives of the Studio Team

The Build-a-Photo Factory

Being time for Taylor’s 9 month portrait session I picked out an outfit to capture him in the woods when we went camping for the 4th.  The problem was that I spotted a shirt of Lanes that would look so good in the mountains too, and matched Taylor’s.  And then there were Lauren’s new boots.  With such a patriotic display that I had going we naturally tracked down where Cosette was camping and asked her to do a family picture for us.

My biggest excitement came from getting an AWESOME picture of all 3 of my children together.  I’m in love with it.  Of course it didn’t all happen at once.  This is how we do it.  Lane looks good in picture 5, Lauren in picture 8, and Taylor in picture 9.  A little cut and paste and a lot of know how and Voila!  And then there is the family picture.  It is a little obvious that Lane is all over the place (which I’m so glad Cosette caught his personality like that), but while the 4 of us on the left all looked good in one shot, I grabbed my favorite of Lane and a little cut and paste and a lot of know how and Perfecto!

Can I tell you how much I love our team!  We have the best selection of talented people who are great to have around with their wonderful personalities.  Oh, and by the way, if you want pictures like that, you don’t even have to wait until one of our photographers are on vacation, you just take them with you.  And if any of you need pictures in Italy, or Ireland, or… I will be happy to volunteer.

This was an amazing camping spot at Black Canyon Lake between Payson and Heber.  We will be taking our family back some time.

Team Still Life~Pats Run

Nate is the runner of the group … having done one full marathon as well as various other races he got us all more aware and interested in the sport. Run AZ doesn’t know it but they should thank Nate for multiple purchases from random sources. Such is the case with Pat’s Run. He started talking about it next thing you know it was a Team Still Life thing … in fact their wasn’t a single member of Still Life that was going to miss the run but alas last minute a few violins played sad songs and we were cut down almost in half. Injury and tragedy befalled us so we are hoping for a full team running next year. :)

Here are a few photos from the event …

Sha-la-la-LAA-la-LAA-la-LA-LA-LA-LA-di-da, my blue eyed boy.

I’ve been looking out for the perfect outfit for Taylor’s 6 month session.  That is why it was taken this morning at 7 1/2 months.  I never really found just what I had in mind so I finally plunged into Lane’s old outfits again and pulled out one of my favorites.  My sweet 7 month old is filling out this size 24 month outfit perfectly – Oh my!  Why did it take me so long, because I needed the perfect get up to make his eyes POP!  I think it worked out well.  Now if only I could decide which, out of these 4 images, I will be enlarging for my wall.  Does anybody have a favorite?

Yes, I do believe the last one might be the most amazing, but not sure if it is the one to go big.

Nothing more precious….

Then a sweet baby girl!  We couldn’t be more happy for Sarah and JT ~ as they welcome their daughter Cameron to the world.  Sarah and JT are a former Still Life Bride and Groom and Sarah is a former Still Life Employee…… so our team was overjoyed we were able to meet Cameron for the first time!  Congratulations!  There were so many beautiful shots, but here are a couple of our favorite ones……

More family to love …

It’s funny how people become family. As I have worked in this industry I have been able to get to know many people and one person who has loved our work from the beginning was Evelyn. She works at Regency Garden in Mesa and so we have become like family. This is the second family photo shoot I have done with her and her family and it was so much fun. One thing about being so close to Evelyn and her family I was able to bring my daughter Lauren with me on the shoot. Lauren is now 5 and just so excited to go on a shoot and take photos. I grabbed her camera and we left quickly. Her camera take different memory cards then mine so when her’s were getting full we had to try and delete some pictures while we were shooting. It was quite funny but she was having a blast shooting and selecting her favorites.

Here are a few images from the adventure …

The day after the shoot Lauren was asked by Jennifer, “How did you do on your photo shoot?”

Lauren replied, “My card kept getting full and I accidentally kept taking pictures of my feet!”

“Pictures of your feet could be cool!”, exclaimed Jennifer.

To which Lauren replied with a matter of fact face, “They don’t want pictures of my feet!”

I heard that story and I about died laughing. Give her a few years and she will be running the Studio too! That’s my girl. She knows that the clients come first. Got to give them what they want. :D

Lauren says she wants more practice so if anyone wants Lauren on your shoot as an additional photographer she is currently free of charge. She has a busy schedule so please let us know if you want her included with plenty of advance notice.
