Matt and Elyse album … 1st round … :)

Ok … this may not work … but I wanted to share. I am providing a link to a folder on our site which includes the album we just completed the design for Matt and Elyse. She already asked for a few changes which we are making, but I thought I would share the folder. While this may not work … I can’t promise this link will work forever. :) At some point this link may end up dead but if you really want to see it and it doesn’t work then contact me and I will see if I can re-post it. :D Thanks for understanding.

See the album, which was completely designed by Dani, here!
BTW, I set the link to open in a separate window … so if it doesn’t pop up disable the pop up blocker by holding down the Ctrl key as you click the link. :)

Besides the fact that she is my wife and I think she is the hottest woman ever … I thought Dani did a fantastic job on the design layout of the album. She always amazes me! Go Dani!

Jason and Robin … a different style, it was beautiful!

Jason and Robin did it all a little differently. Yes the ceremony was awesome. The promises they made to each other and to God were excellent. They had a kiss … a cake (though that to was different :D – both of them!), they exchanged rings (a something else quite unique), they had a kiss. There were many things which would tell the wedding story. But they chose to be unique. The dress was RED and totally awesome! The groom didn’t bother wearing a tux! The list goes on. This truly was a great day and a great wedding. I am grateful that Jason and Robin chose us to document the day. Here are just a few of the great shots.

This is the blessing of the rings etc. Great shot Cosette.

Great shot Cosette … the blessing of the rings and more! :)

Now I am hungry for some oriental food. I didn’t get to sample any at the reception … we were too busy capturing all the fun! Thanks again!

Ben, Jessica, FY photo crew, and a few drinks from Sonic!

We were blessed to shoot Ben and Jessica yesterday in a beautiful afternoon sunset. The weather was a bit crazy and it appeared to be all but rained out. I was a little worried. :) I had a craving for Sonic drinks on the way to the shoot and instinctively called Ben to get their order. It was a success since, little did I know, Sonic is their favorite place for refreshing drinks. Truth be had I was a little disappointed with mine but that is for a less interesting blog entry. :D Anyway we arrived to gorgeous light and an even more gorgeous bride. My lucky day! The shoot started out a little nerve racking for Jessica as I don’t think she really remembered the way we introduce the bride and groom together in wedding attire. But it made for some fantastic imagery and helped to build the anticipation. Without further blogging … here are just a few of my favorites. :D

I loved this image … I can understand if others may not but I just resonated with it. Its actually a detail of a greater image … I may come back to it to “perfect” it. But I just thought it was great!

Thanks Ben and Jessica! The shoot was grand and you both had lovely chemistry … now back to regularly scheduled programing … anyone for a little “Lost”. Ben loves it! :D

Michael and Erin were stoked!

Stoked was at least the word that was used to describe the feelings of this bride and groom the morning of the shoot! I believe that it was a great shoot and wonderful images were achieved for both photo and video. We had the whole FY Studios team on the shoot and thankfully we brought a roll of paper towels. :D It was warm and little humid. Without further ado here a just a few stills that show off the beauty of Erin and Michael.

A little cross process-ish!

I really liked this image of Micheal. Granted I made it a little funky by trying some cross processing-ish imagining. Hope it is liked … the final gallery will have my version and a less crazy version. :)

Erin does well!

Erin is beautiful … she wasn’t all that excited by all the cameras but she did well!

Thanks again for the great shoot and the fun attitude. These were just a sneak peak. There are plenty more to come! As Jared would say … just wait till you see video! :D

Drew and Lindsay!

Friday was awesome. Drew and Lindsay were both great to work with and emanating happiness. I am going to do this post a little differently then others past. So here goes …Kendra (who is a member of the Still Life Studios team!!!) was a bridesmaid of Lindsay. Although no special pricing favors were given I did tell Kendra that if she wanted to take some gear and have fun, to do so. And she did! Bonus to Drew and Lindsay for sure!

Lindsay started the day out at Cosmos for hair and makeup …

Nice shot Kendra!

Another great shot by Kendra!
Drew and Lindsay picked a beautiful home in the north Mesa area to have their ceremony. The weather really wasn’t that bad considering it is August in AZ. The ladies had one side of the house to prepare in while the gentlemen had another.

The ceremony was simply beautiful. The focus was on the bride and groom and the promises they were making. I enjoyed how intimate it was from start to finish.

After the ceremony we did some great shots of the bride and groom around the ceremony location and again in a park on the way to the dinner/reception.

The dinner and reception were held at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater. This is the second wedding dinner we have shot here. I am amazed at how friendly the staff are. Dave, who I think was the head server, was constantly asking if we wanted any water, lemonade, etc to drink. Which may not seem out of the ordinary but as another person working at the event it isn’t that common. The thought that kept coming was, “If they are this kind to other vendors I would love to be a guest!”. Broadway Palm catered the event and the good comments on the food kept coming. We were to busy to eat at this event. Another surprise came from the all famous chocolate fountain people. Holly and Bridget of Chocolate Fountain Gourmet were manning (or would that be womaning :) the fountain.) They are hysterical. They were dressed very nicely (I can’t tell you how many fountain vendors I have seen in blue jeans). All around friendly. The MC/DJ for the evening was Andre. He was fun and knew how to get the crowd involved. The reception was planned out well and went very smoothly. I am sure everyone enjoyed it. Here are just some notable images from the reception.

The fight for the bouquet was really funny. Lindsay decided to avoid any hurt feelings so she tossed it a second time! Lindsay is such a peacemaker! :)
