Todd and Tricia …

So last I heard the limo driver was in an accident on the way to pick them up at Regency … better then after he picks them up I guess. Todd and Tricia made it sound like everything else on the day of was perfect. I thought it went well and we had some great images. I am pretty sure that all except the last one are Jacques shots. Enjoy!

I am almost positive this last image was from from my fingertip. :)

Getting Dirty – Ryan and Celia

This session with Ryan and Celia was a slew of randomness. As mentioned before the idea is not to specifically trash the dress though in this case it did Get Dirty which has always been our title … you know just in case the dress gets dirty … no one can say we didn’t warn them! :) . That idea is prevalent currently and more power to those who love it. We starting shooting Getting Dirty Sessions before the Trash the Dress idea became popular (or was even around as far as I know) and our whole premise is lets do fish out of water with a personal touch. Lets find things that relate to the couple … this session included an 81 VW truck, guitars, beach cruisers, a beach, and more … :) We had a great time. Here are few images from the shoot.

There were so many great images … I can’t say I have favorites but I love how some shots came about. Like the gas can images. Ryan and I both saw them and he mentioned that he loved them … as in wanted to take them home. We subtly hinted to the owners that we were up for buying them but to no avail. :) Anyway … Ryan gets up on a mess of stuff (literally) and I start shooting. The whole thing came together … the light … the cans … the composition … his look … and the plane. This is one of those images that just came together without much effort on my part. I was there to capture it and it looks great!

Two more notes: I can’t say I have ever had a groom like Ryan when it comes to being photographed … I think he was just having so much fun goofing around that he wanted to be in all the shots. Like the last image of Celia on her own, we ended up doing some of him on in the water a little further back (not shown). It was his idea and it worked out really well. The surprising thing was that he was so eager to be in the images when many grooms basically just chill and jump in when they are asked. “Hey … that looked like fun, can I float in the water?”, inquired Ryan. Matt laughed, “Of course!” I enjoyed it and hope most grooms will continue to add input and let me know if they feel left out. :)

And lastly, I have at least a portion of three Dirty Sessions at this spot, which I think I have blogged about all three. What I love is that if you were to see the body of work on each session you would notice a few similarities. Yes there are a few shots that each couple might share, BUT … each couple has vastly different shots from the same location. This doesn’t surprise me necessarily as we shoot at several venues all the time. There are often similarities but what is interesting is how different each couples weddings images are. There are probably many different reasons … our inspiration while we shoot to try someplace new or a different take on the location, the couples personality affects the images greatly, lighting (including weather conditions) can be totally different from one day to the next … just a few thoughts. :)

Jason and Kelsey …

I love the fun ways that I meet people. Kelsey was busy working one night selling for the hotel she works at while I was busy selling any bride that walked in. Kelsey decied to approach us and ask about wedding music. I think she had her mind made up that she didn’t want to talk photography. :) Kelsey is getting married in Washington and already has a photographer booked but as it turns out needed engagement photos. She looked at our site and fell in love with the work and as they say the rest is history. Here are a few shots from the session.

A few notes from the session … it’s amazing how far a car will travel while being below E and sometimes you meet some really cool grooms to be that like to spend time in prison. :)

Ed was asking one last time …

So it was just random chance but Ed happened to pick up a message courtesy of the South of the Border chefs on the way to the wedding. He thought maybe he should ask one last time just to make sure she was serious. So using the sauce packet he posed the question one last time.

She accepted once again!

She finished getting ready.

They took a few photo’s together …

They had a big party to celebrate.

They lived happily ever after.
