First time for everything

Dan and Annette were married at the Anthem Ironwood Golf and Country Club. One memory that will probably stick with me about their wedding was her getting her dress laced up. Her beautiful daughters were assisting her and I was a little perplexed about the way the laces were being threaded. I hate to get in the middle since I am supposed to be documenting and a silent observer of the day. But I suggested that perhaps it was the wrong way. They were pretty sure it was how they were instructed by the dress people. After a small bit of frustration another kind woman joined in and also instructed that it should go another way. Next thing I know I was in the thick of it getting Annette laced up and ready to go. Bridget even grabbed my camera and took a few images. We all laughed about it and were glad that no matter what it all worked out. I also must say that Annette’s dress selection was superb as it was fitted well to her body style and looked amazing. I was glad to say I had a small part to play … mind you I have never done that before. :) Dan was a crack up and admittedly agreed with me that he probably didn’t deserve Annette but was happy all the same that she was saying yes and going through with it all. She said yes and it was a beautiful event with a new first for me. Congrats you two, I think you are both pretty well matched to each other :) … see you soon!

Way to relax.

Stephen and Allona were married on a beautiful day with just the perfect overcast and temperature to match. Even when you have ominous clouds it is a super rare thing to have it adversly affect the events of the day. Our bride and groom were as relaxed as the weather which always sets up for a perfect day. Both of them talked about how easy everything seemed to go. A close friend married them, Grandma made the cake (I heard it was lemon!), and Stephen had an old school barber trim and straight razor shave. It was a fun event with lots of mingling and hugs. Here are a few images from the day.

They made their own stars

It was a perfect day for a wedding!  John and Rebecca even involved their family into their ceremony making it an imitate affair.  It was full of fun and excitement for this couple, plus it ended with some flare with the couple making their own starlight!  Cheers to you both!

A Nice Day for a Swim.

There is a video on YouTube of a photographer who fell in a fountain at the end of the ceremony.  I’m just glad to say that wasn’t me, because, seriously, that would be so embarrassing!  Here at Still Life, we wait until we’re alone with the bride and groom!  Yes, I stepped into the beautiful waters of Seville with only the couple there to witness.  Very strategically planned, we’ll do anything to bring out those smiles!  Anyway, Jon and Erica had a beautiful day.  They were very easy going and great to work with, and I had a lot of fun.  Here are some cool shots from their wedding day!
